In a bit of a heavier state of mind today. Perhaps it was the lingering rain clouds causing me much distraction that put me in such a state of being, but it did lead to a new blog, so I suppose that’s good. This one is on the Just a Thought page. Enjoy.

I added some new posts to my Culture Junkie site and also to the Just a Thought site recently and wanted to add links here.
I just started watching Once Upon A Time and Grimm (on ABC and NBC respectively). Both are great, so of course I had to put down my thoughts on them. The Once Upon A Time post is titled Fairy Tales and TV and the one of Grimm is Who Knew Grimm Could Look So Good. Check them out – especially if you’re a fan of either show.
As for the new post on my Just a Thought page…I find myself at a strange place in my life lately. I am certain that I’m not the first, nor will I be the last person to feel this way, so maybe you can relate. It’s called The Waiting Place.
Hello!
I am writing to you from Spring, Texas where I will be living for a bit. The first six months of 2011 have been strange indeed – filled with many ups and downs. I was exiled to my bed for the past few days with a terrible summer cold & in my feverish state of mind I realized I’ve greatly neglected my website(s) recently and need to update.
The drive from LA to Houston (or Spring if you want to be really specific) is a tediously long one supplying the driver with ample time to think. Thankfully I had company on my drive, so I didn’t go completely crazy. I did start wondering though…when we find ourselves in the position of having pretty much nothing to lose – is that when we should pursue the dreams we have that seem the most outrageous?
You know what I’m talking about. That thing in the back of your mind that you’ve always said “if I could do anything, I would __________.”
In what appear to be increasingly difficult economic times, one has to consider that maybe this may be the moment when the outrageous becomes rational.
Just something that’s been floating around in my brain for a bit & I wanted to share.

It’s a beautiful Monday morning where I am. I just added a link on the Just a Thought page to a new post entitled When Tweets Make You Think. Like many people today I’m kind of hooked on Twitter. Over the weekend I read a tweet by Pauley Perrette – the actress who portrays Abby on the CBS show NCIS. Her tweet inspired my new post. Hope you enjoy.

Happy New Year!
I was very happy to ring in 2011. It’s nice to feel that the world is filled with possibility once again. I’ve added a couple of new posts to the site on the Culture Junkie page and Just a Thought page.
On the Culture Junkie page you’ll find two new pieces My New Favorite Thing discussing the launch of OWN – the Oprah Winfrey Network and Ringing in the New Year with a Scare, which talks about an old, but good film I watched on New Years Eve.
Just a Thought features a new post – Brand New Morning – expressing some of my thoughts on the end of 2010 and the beginning of a new year.
